| Amanda Seyfried uses rom-com money to buy $1.9 million Greenwich Village pad Posted: 02 Nov 2010 11:06 AM PDT  Myles Aronowitz Letters to Juliet star Amanda Seyfried reportedly bought a $1.9 million condo in the Village's renowned Devonshire House.Rom-com queen Amanda Seyfried has reportedly bought a $1.9 million two-bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village's esteemed Devonshire House. The "Letters to Juliet" star paid $1.9 million -- a little over the $1.875 million asking price -- for the two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo on E. 10th Street, reports Curbed.com. Seyfriend, 24, reportedly bought the pre-war apartment through over the summer through an LLC which kept her anonymous until now. The swanky new apartment may have been the motivation behind Seyfried's decision to take on so many romantic comedy roles. The "Mamma Mia" actress hinted in the March issue of Vanity Fair that movies with onscreen swooning "pay a lot" and that she was saving up for a Manhattan apartment. "Sometimes, when you want to buy an aprtment in Manhattan, you gotta do one or two [romantic comedies]," Seyfried told the magazine. When asked if her role in "Dear John" paid for the digs, Seyfried told the magazine, "No, it was Letters to Juliet." The actress's new home was handled by Stribling, whose listing described the fourth-floor apartment as a fusion of traditional Italian decor with English flourishes. The 1,500-square-foot condo was decorated by famed interior designer Victoria Hagen. The actress may be breaking-in her dream home with a romance of her own. Recent rumors have connected Amanda Seyfried with Ryan Phillippe.
